07.24.2010 Hiking Updates Complete: I've gone through the hiking adventures for the last few months and those are now up. Gia and I did a lot of hiking early in the year, mostly at West Wing Mountain, just North of our house. When Chop and Gia went to Morgantown in April, I did a motorcycle/hike to the summit of Vulture Peak. Once thy were back the whole gang did the Woodchute Trail, near Jerome. (That was the hike that I fell down and split open my knee). After my knee healed, I flew out to ATL to do some of the Appalachian Trail with Goose. We also hit up some of the finer dining establishments, including Dreamland BBQ (so-so), The Vortex (excellent), Porter Beer Bar (great selection), and of course Johnny B's Beef-N-Brew in Dahlonega, GA (Interesting name at least). A few weeks later, we did a loop hike in the Granite Mountain Wilderness near Prescott. Then on July 4, I got up at 4AM and drove up to Flagstaff to hike Humphreys Peak. I made sure to take the convertible so as to get the true Arizona Summer experience. It was 80 in Phoenix, when I left, 46 in Flagstaff when I got there, 50's to 80's on the trail (very windy on the summit ridge), then 100 when I got back to Phoenix. I had the top down the whole time, though if you're going to leave your car in a dirt parking lot for 5 hours, I'd suggest putting it up...
